Drawdown Conference (Jan 2021)

Project Drawdown is partnering with the National Council for Science and the Environment (NCSE) to present the Second International Drawdown Conference. “Research to Action: Science and Solutions for a Planet Under Pressure” will feature the latest scientific research and real-world actions to achieve drawdown and the regenerative future we want. 

This virtual conference is combined with the Annual NCSE Conference and is scheduled for January 5-9, 2021. The first half (January 5-7) of the conference will be facilitated by NCSE and will focus on the physical realities of climate change and impacts on social institutions. The latter half (January 7-9) of the conference will be facilitated by Project Drawdown and will share the latest knowledge on implementation and communication of climate solutions. 

Project Drawdown and NCSE will bring together researchers, specialists and others from across the globe for discussion of the latest solutions to the world’s most pressing global challenges, with opportunities for networking, collaboration, and action.

The key objectives of the NCSE Drawdown 2021 conference are to help participants:

• Understand the realities of a changing climate and the impact of systemic change 
• Evaluate real solutions and explore potential implementation pathways to advance them
• Advance the application of science to address global complex environmental challenges
• Explore the co-benefits to human and planetary well-being that climate solutions provide
• Inspire collaboration between the diverse communities of scientists, researchers, decision-makers, innovators, and leaders that NCSE and Project Drawdown will bring together
• Foster collective impact that has exploration, inclusiveness, urgency, and equity at its heart
