See this reading list to acquire a good sense of what a serious approach to sustainability means, and possibly a little good reading too.

The list is from The Natural Edge Project in Australia (see the TNEP post below) for the stated purpose of "Enabling Rapid Sustainability Curricula Reform in the Tertiary Sector." Many of the publications are available for free on line, and some are even used as course texts in courses at the London School of Economics and elsewhere).
