The organization conducts research and leads education campaigns that played a role in securing renewal of federal clean energy incentives and the establishment of the Better Buildings Initiative to help finance energy improvements.

They recommend the following steps homeowners can take to help get politicians and big business moving:

  1. Start simple and cheap; change ot CFL light bulbs and save 75%.
  2. Weatherize your home/business.
  3. Upgrade your appliances at the next purchase.
  4. Generate your own energy.
  5. Green your ride.
  6. Lobby/write your elected representatives to support the transition to 100% renewable energy economy.
